Volunteering at Balance

Balance is committed to making the organisation and the services we provide open, welcoming and diverse. We welcome volunteers of all ages and from all sections of the community to enrich our volunteer workforce.

Volunteering at Balance has been truly valuable for me — it helped me regain experience, rebuild my confidence, and provided me with a meaningful "first job" experience in the UK after my long career break.

Benefits of Volunteering

Volunteering has many potential benefits that can improve your wellbeing, sense of belonging and ability to make a difference -

Enjoyment

Many people report getting involved in volunteering because they have fun doing it. Trying something new can be enjoyable and rewarding.

Personal Satisfaction

For some it is a sense of personal development and achievement that they get from getting involved.

Making a Difference

A lot of people report volunteering because they want to make a difference, either to the lives of others or to their community.

Meet New People

Volunteering opens the door to meet new people from different backgrounds, and with different life experiences, who you might not have otherwise met.

Life Experience

Volunteering can give you the opportunity to try something new - a potential new career or maybe in an area of interest you have never explored before!

I truly believe in, and see first hand the positive impact the service has on people’s lives. I would wholeheartedly recommend it if you’re looking to make a meaningful difference.
